Due to weather conditions in the Netherlands, a modified timetable will be in effect throughout the Netherlands on Saturday and Sunday. Use the travel planner to plan your journey.
There is therefore a high risk of disruptions to train services. To ensure you have a reliable and safe journey, the winter timetable will be in effect this weekend. This means that fewer NS trains will be running on a number of routes. Please allow for extra travel time, more frequent transfers, and crowded trains. Plan your journey in the travel planner shortly before departure for the most up-to-date travel advice.
What does this mean for your journey?
On almost all routes, there will be at least two trains per hour, sometimes four times per hour. It will not be possible to increase the frequency of trains if the weather conditions improve.
ProRail has extra snow and breakdown crews on standby to resolve switch failures. Despite the precautions taken, trains may be canceled or delayed. NS and ProRail are working hard to resolve any problems as quickly as possible.
Winter weather can cause more disruption for train passengers. Therefore, always plan your journey using the journey planner shortly before departure, or download the Rijden de Treinen app. Expect longer journey times and crowds, especially during rush hour. Trains may also depart at different times than you are used to.

- Den Haag Centraal – Utrecht Centraal
- Eindhoven Centraal – Sittard
- Rotterdam Centraal– Utrecht Centraal
- Den Haag Centraal - Schiphol Airport – Utrecht Centraal – Nijmegen
- Roosendaal- Vlissingen
Fewer Sprinter trains throughout the day:
- Arnhem Centraal – Nijmegen
- Breukelen - Uitgeest
- Amsterdam Centraal – Almere Oostvaarders
- Hoofddorp – Weesp – Utrecht Centraal
Museum train railway museum:
- No museum train between Utrecht Centraal – Utrecht Maliebaan
Regional carriers and international train traffic
Trains operated by regional carriers (Arriva, Blauwnet, Connexxion, Breng, Keolis, and Qbuzz) are running according to the normal timetable, as are most international trains (ICE International, Eurostar), with the exception of Eurocity direct. If you are traveling abroad by train, be sure to leave early and allow for extra transfer time.
